It's been a long time. Too long. But we are back and there is some exciting news we'd love to share with you.
Despite the fact that we haven't been updating this blog regularly we have still been working on the game. There was a dark time we don't like to talk about from July 2011 through July 2012 when nothing got done. But other than that our planned tower-defense-in-space-on-the-Xbox game had been moving forward at a steady side-project clip for about three years after our last post.
Then the next gen consoles were announced this past May.
That really got us going, because we absolutely want this to come out on the Xbox 360 before the Xbox One launches in November. We know that a lot of players will be switching to the newest, shiniest console as soon as it comes out, so we want to make sure they have a chance to see and play our game before that happens.
So this summer saw a huge push of activity on all fronts. Deadlines were set. And adhered to, surprisingly. The list of tasks yet to complete is now small enough that I can count them using fingers on one hand. At one point there were several hundred. Challenges were conquered, pitfalls avoided, bugs squashed. We learned a ton about making games. It's been a great experience.
And now, finally, we're ready to share it with you. To give you a sneak peak of what the game will look like we've hand-crafted an announcement trailer which you can watch below.
And since we now have a name for the game, we can finally share that with you too.
Zen Otter is proud to announce Defend Earth or Die! coming to Xbox Live Indie Games soon.
